What is a unique producer?

It is a facility that generates more than 200 litres of waste per day. These facilities are both obliged and entitled to register as such and use the door-to-door waste collection service.

How do I dispose of waste?

– Do not leave waste lying outside the containers.
– You can never exceed the volume of the container (the lid must close properly)
They must be in sealed bags (all other waste) and compostable bags (organic).
– In the case of a small single producers of paper and cardboard, make a bundle.

How do I maintain the containers?

– Keep waste storage areas clean and tidy.
– Keep the containers clean and in good condition.
– The containers must be approved and the colour of the waste to be deposited.
– Containers should be labelled with the type of waste and name of the facility (in marker and/or a sticker).
– Containers shall be left at the proposed public collection point to be lifted from 8pm and they must be in the producer’s facilities before 9am.

Know which waste goes in each container.

Yellow container

You can put the following items in the yellow container:

Inside the yellow container, we must deposit plastic bottles and containers, metal packaging, Tetra Paks, and wooden packaging, specifically:

Deposit in the yellow container:

Packaging | Plastic bottles and/or plastic items.
Soft drinks cans and food tins.
Glass bottle caps.
Soup packets.
Expanded polystyrene and/or Cellophane.
Wooden fruit and vegetable crates.
Plastic bleach, ammonia and household cleaning product bottles.
Lids from glasses containers.

Do not deposit in the yellow container:

Paper cups.
Clay bottles or jars.
Plastic-coated paper used in butcher’s shops and/or fishmongers.
Lighters.
Pens.
Plastic packaging from beer and/or soft drink bottle packs.
Silicone moulds for baking.
Plastic buckets and washing-up bowls.

Blue container

What to throw in the blue container?

This can include food packaging, footwear, frozen products, wrapping paper, everyday paper, specifically:

Deposit in the blue container:

Paper and cardboard.
Notebooks, newspapers, magazines.
Paper coffee cups.
Paper ice cream tubs.
Plastic-coated paper used in butcher’s shops and fishmongers.
Paper bags.
Egg cartons.

Do not deposit in the blue container:

Paper napkins.
Printing paper (tickets, passes, etc).
Paper and cardboard stained by oil or fat.
Paper and cardboard stained by organic substances.
Plastic-coated containers.
Tin foil.
Cartons.

Green container

What to throw in the green container?

Here we should deposit glass bottles (wine, champagne…), glass jars (like perfumes or colognes), or food jars (jams, preserves, etc.).

Deposit in the green container:

Glass bottles.
Glass wine bottles.
Bottles and/or jars.
Drinking-glasses.
Small beer or soft drink bottles.

Do not deposit in the green container:

Glass (glasses/tumblers)
Fluorescent light tubes/light bulbs
Ceramics, porcelain, clay
Mirrors, ashtrays, tumblers and crockery.

Brown container (organic)

What to thrown in brown container?

What should be deposited in this container are: food scraps such as fruit peels, fish bones, plants, eggshells, or coffee grounds; also used napkins and kitchen paper.

Deposit in the brown container:

Leftover fruit and vegetables.
Meat and fish scraps.
Nut shells and egg shells.
Leftover shellfish and shells (clams, mussels, etc).
Tea and coffee.
Garden waste (leaves, branches, etc).
Used kitchen roll and napkins.
Wine corks.

Do not deposit in the brown container:

Non-organic waste

Bathroom waste (toilet roll, tampons, nappies, wet wipes).
Pruning waste (large pieces).
Cigarette butts and ash.
Dust from sweeping and/or hoover debris.
Dirty cleaning cloths and rags.
Containers with expired products (cream, yoghurt, sauces).
Liquid foods.
Excrement.

Grey container (reject/non-recyclable waste)

What to throw in the grey container

Everything that cannot be reused. Toys, baby bottles, pacifiers, kitchen utensils, diapers, ceramic objects, sanitary pads, pet litter, hair, dust, cigarette butts, etc.

Deposit in the grey container:

Containers with expired products (cream, yoghurt, sauces).
Bathroom waste (toilet roll, tampons, nappies, wetwipes).
Cigarette butts and ash.
Dust from sweeping and/or hoover debris.

Do not deposit in the grey container:

Non-organic residues

Food waste (fresh or expired).
Textiles, rags, cloths, cleaning cloths.
Garden waste and pruning waste.
Items that have to go in a specific container.
