Yellow container

What can I put in the yellow container?

You can put plastic packaging and bottles, metallic packaging, cartons and wooden containers in the yellow container, specifically:

Plastic bottles

Food tins and drinks cans

Plastic and metal lids and caps, bottletops

Aluminium trays

Cling film and tin foil

Aerosol cans

Deodorant bottles

Plastic bags (except bin bags)

Yoghurt pots and lids

Milk, juice, soap cartons, etc.

Styrofoam trays

Toothpaste tubes

Wooden fruit and vegetable crates

Wine and spirits crates

You can put the following items in the yellow container:

Plastic bottles and packaging

Personal care and cleaning products, pots, trays, wrappers and bags, bottles with lids and caps.

Metal packaging

Cans, aluminium trays, aerosol cans, deodorant bottles, metal lids and caps.

Cartons

Milk, juices, soups, etc.

Wooden containers

Fruit and vegetable boxes.

Wine and spirits boxes.

Ceramic containers

For yoghurts, cottage cheese, custard, etc.

Do not put the following items in the yellow container:

Plastic toys
Plastic flower pot stands
Baby’s bottles, Thermos flasks and dummies
Kitchen utensils
Plastic buckets
CD and DVD cases and boxes
Mobile phone and tablet covers
Pens, pencil cases and sharpeners
Toilet bags, purses
Medicine packaging made from plastic

Blue container

The following items can be placed in the blue container:

Packaging for food, footwear, frozen foods, wrapping paper, everyday paper, specifically:

Paper cups and pots

Paper boxes

Paper

Plastic wrapping for meat and fish

Paper bags

Egg cartons

The following can be put in the blue container:

Cardboard and cardboard boxes

Packaging for food, footwear, frozen foods, wrapping paper, everyday paper, notebooks, newspapers, magazines, etc.

Do not put the following items in the blue container:

Cartons
Used kitchen roll and napkins
Stained paper and cardboard
Plastic-coated containers
Tin foil
Nappies and tampons
Printing paper (tickets, passes, etc)

Green container

What can I put in the green container?

We should put glass bottles (wine, cava, etc), small glass bottles (like perfume or cologne bottles) and food jars (marmalade, jam, etc) in the green container.

Brown container (organic waste)

What can I put in the brown container?

You can put the following items in the brown container: Food scraps such as fruit peels, fish bones, plants, egg shells or coffee dregs and used napkins and kitchen roll.

Tea and coffee

The following can be put in the brown bin:

Food scraps such as fruit peels, fish bones, plants, egg shells and coffee dregs; and used napkins and kitchen roll, tea and coffee. Garden waste, wine corks.

Do not put the following items in the brown container:

Non-organic waste

Ceramic items, nappies, cigarette butts, wet wipes, cotton buds, pet litter, hair, dirt, personal care waste, excrement, etc.

Grey container (all other waste)

What can I put in the grey container?

Everything that cannot be reused. Toys, baby’s bottles, dummies, kitchen utensils, nappies, ceramic items, tampons, pet litter, hair, dirt, cigarette butts, etc.

The following can be put in the grey container:

This is the container for all types of waste that cannot be reused such as used tissues, baby’s bottles,

Do not put the following items in the grey container:

Organic waste
Light packaging
Glass containers
Paper and cardboard
Batteries
Mobile phones, computers and CDs
Furniture, mirrors and electrical appliances
Gardening waste
Expired medications
Items that have to go in a specific container
